The Art of Trees

Eco Awareness

When we first set up as a business we knew that we wanted to give back to the community we live in, not least in terms of the environment.

We are incredibly conscious that as a supplier of wooden flooring we contribute to the use of the worlds natural resources to create them.

Wanting to give back

Yes, we ensure that all of our products come from sustainable sources and we only use wood flooring suppliers who are accredited by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), the EUTR (EU Timber Regulation) or the PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification), but why should we stop at that?

How can we do more?

This in mind we were delighted to have been able to team up with Local Charity Prospects Trust at Snakehall Farm in Reach when we opened in 2017. This is a relationship we have continued since then.

Who are Prospects Trust and what do they do?

This wonderful charity supports those with learning and physical disabilities through horticulture and it also offers the opportunity for corporate companies to get involved with tree planting and tree donations.

A horticultural charity

They aim to plant hedgerow around the fields to create protection to the fields and crops but also to create new habitats for the tiny creatures which help keep the natural balance.

This was a perfect charity for us to support and as it enables us to going some way to helping our local environment and offsetting our carbon footprint.

What we do for them

You will have seen from earlier news articles that in previous years we have been out there getting muddy, digging and planting trees in the fields with Farmer Mark.

It’s a morning that is a privilege to be part of. It gets us out, helping in different ways, and hopefully others see a benefit from the help.

Technical Hitch

The slight spanner in the works came when Covid hit this year. Unable to get to the fields due to lockdowns we still wanted to do our bit.

So we donated trees and hedging.

This meant that those on the farm could plant them allowing the fields and habitats to continue to develop thrive.

We are delighted that even though we have been unable to be there in person we have been classed as one of their “good” companies due to our continued support.

We are very much looking forward to the time when lockdowns are eased and we can get back in to the fields, enjoy planting some more trees, and try to give back to the beautiful world we live in.
