Art of Flooring came to this central Cambridge Edwardian family home to help transform the kitchen and living spaces. The owners chose a range of floorings including a stunning LVT, beautiful French oak, and a quality carpet.
This was a huge project and using so many different materials enabled the Art of Flooring team to showcase all we can do for our clients.
Claire and Matt had recently bought this 1930s Edwardian home in Cambridge and wanted to refresh and upgrade the flooring throughout their property.
They visited the Art of Flooring showroom in January 2023 to seek advice to help transform their home with the right materials for every room. They wanted high-quality, beautiful flooring options for their kitchen, entrance hall, dining room, playroom, living room, stairs, landing and bedrooms.
The flooring needed to be both practical and to suit the style of the home.
After a detailed consultation, Claire and Matt chose their flooring. The project was designed to blend timeless elegance with functionality.

The couple chose Harvey Maria Lattice design LVT in a wood-effect finish, complemented by a wood-effect border to add visual interest and a touch of luxury. This combination worked beautifully within the kitchen, offering durability and easy maintenance. (see above)
For the entrance hall, dining room, and playroom, they opted for Panaget French Oak in a plank style.
This provided a classic, sophisticated look while being tough enough to withstand the daily activity of family life. (see below)
To bring warmth and comfort to the living areas, stairs, landing and the four bedrooms, Claire and Matt selected Telenzo Wool Loop Carpet.
The natural wool provided a luxurious feel underfoot while being practical for a busy household. (see left)
During the installation of the wooden flooring, a challenge arose due to a subtle ramp from the dining room to the playroom. To ensure a smooth transition, the fitter transformed the ramp into a step, using matching wood to blend with the floor. This clever solution was practical and also added a custom touch to the space.
This reflects Art of Flooring's commitment to high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.
In September 2024, Claire and Matt contacted Art of Flooring again—this time to tackle their bathroom. After another showroom consultation, they chose the Harvey Maria Walbrook design in Avebury Stone colour for the bathroom.
This design brought the perfect blend of elegance and durability for the bathroom environment. It ensured the space was both stylish and easy to maintain.

Art of Flooring completed both the full home flooring update in 2023 and the bathroom renovation in 2024, providing Claire and Matt with a home that feels truly cohesive.
The combination of LVT, wood, and wool carpet in the main areas, along with the addition of the beautiful new bathroom floor, has transformed the space into a family-friendly yet stylish home.
The couple’s ongoing relationship with us is a testament to the trust they place in the team’s expertise and the quality of the products we recommend.
