Our Clients live in a Historically important 1850s built house in Granchester that had been modernised in the 1990s. When they bought the property they knew they wanted to renovate and restore it so that it was sympathetic to the time it was built in. We were delighted to be able to help.
As experienced renovators the Murrays already knew exactly what they wanted.
They were looking for something that would look as if it had been laid in the late 1800s or early 1900s, in line with the styling of the time, when the ‘famous poet owner’ would have lived in the house.
They knew that Torched Oak wood would create the effect of looking as if the floor had been laid a long time ago and so it was a matter of finding a company who could provide this product.
“Very good from start to finish”
It was through an online search that they found Art of Flooring and they saw on the website that Art of Flooring could also provide the required Torched Oak.
Mr Murray explained that the “whole process was very straightforward with Art of Flooring” and that everything was “very good from start to finish”. The staff were all helpful and he had no reservations in using Art of Flooring because the team reacted in such a positive, helpful way from the start.
He told us that Art of Flooring provided them with various samples and the time the company took to show them the products was not conditional on an order being placed, there was no pressure.
Desired effect achieved
The floor was for the Byre part of the house and the fitters were excellent. The floor looks great, it definitely has the “desired effect” to bring it in keeping with the time period.
“We are really pleased with our floor and we will definitely be using Art of Flooring again when we renovate the kitchen as we want to extend the same floor though to there. It was a very good service” Mr Murray concluded.
Art of Flooring works hard to ensure their customers are happy and we are delighted to have been able to support the Murrays in finding the perfect floor for their restoration project.
