A straightforward job, but what a transformation. This article showcases another stunning herringbone floor.
We were invited to a house in Saffron Walden to do a straightforward flooring change in their kitchen diner room. It was time for something new and so our clients asked us to remove the Vinyl in their mid-century Saffron Walden home and replace it with a herringbone.
As with all of the work we do, our client came to our showroom first and it was there we were able to spend time with them and advise on what may be suitable. It’s important never to skip this stage of the experience as investing in a new floor is a big thing, and not one to get wrong. Taking the time to choose carefully is important.
They have a dog and so it was important to be a pet friendly floor and they already had an idea they wanted a herringbone floor.
They chose a beautiful Trust Oak Collection herringbone floor called ‘Anglesey’. All of our Trust Oaks are named after local National Trust estates and we give a year's free National Trust membership to people choosing a Trust Collection floor.

This particular wood was in a rustic grade, 500 by 90 mm and 15 mm thick. The top 4 mm of this is an oak wear layer which gives added protection, which is particularly handy if you have an animal.
The Trust Oak Herringbone was perfect for this pet friendly home as it is easy to clean and sweep up, and it can be dressed up or down with rugs should you wish to change the feel of the room.
They also decided that they would like to change the utility and cloakroom floors and they chose a Harvey Maria Lattice Cornflower Luxury Vinyl Tile to replace the old Vinyl.
This was a smooth and straightforward experience and we are pleased to say that they are delighted with it, as are we, and of course their dog!
Wood is a truly beautiful flooring and is well worth considering when you think about changing your flooring.
