What is the best bathroom flooring?

A bathroom is very much part of your home, it’s so much more than just a functional room and therefore you want it to be an inviting place to get yourself ready for the day or relax at the end.

With this in mind it is important that we make the right choices to shape our room from bathtubs, to showers, to sinks, toilets, cabinets and of course the floor.

Which is the best flooring to have?

As with any flooring you need to ask yourself “what use does it have to withstand?”

A bathroom (certainly upstairs or off from a bedroom) is unlikely to have very heavy footfall or shoes damaging it so withstanding mud is not really the main consideration.

The main issue is water and spills.

You need a floor that can withstand water and be mopped up easily and you want a floor that can be cleaned easily should anything else land on it.

You do not want a floor that will soak up water and expand (think wood) and you do not want a floor that will stain or soak up any marks or fluids (think carpet).

With this in mind the only real contender for a bathroom is Luxury Vinyl Tile.

It cleans easily and will not absorb smells or stains.

And the added bonus is that it looks outstanding. With so many patterns and colours this is a choice that is going to make your bathroom the room where you all want to be!
