A bedroom is a low traffic area so from that respect you can put any floor in a bedroom. It is not going to get damaged by heavy footfall and messy shoes (at least not in an adult’s bedroom – see below for our thoughts on a child’s room).
It is a room for comfort, calm, tranquillity and you need a floor that will make it feel that way. The floor is the first thing you feel in the morning and the last thing you feel as you climb into bed.
While you could have Luxury Vinyl Tile and it would look nice it wouldn’t perhaps give you the same level of cosiness that would be expected of a bedroom.
Wood is a great option in any home, it is easy to clean and with the colours and styles of plank and different designs on the market these days would sit well in any bedroom.
However, to achieve the cosy feel and possibly reduce echo, if you have a wooden floor you may like to add a few nice cushions in the room to help absorb sound and add a plush rug to enhance the comfort levels underfoot. There is nothing worse than getting out of bed on to a cold floor!

This is probably our favourite choice for a bedroom floor purely for achieving the cosy feel we have talked about. Picture it now, you step out of bed on to a soft and warm floor, perfect on a cold winter's morning.
You can get wool or synthetic carpets.
Wool carpets are harder wearing than a synthetic carpet but that isn’t necessarily a top requirement for a bedroom. A synthetic carpet offers a velvety underfoot feel.
In a child’s room, a synthetic carpet would be preferable to a wool carpet as they are a slightly cheaper option and easy to clean if you get to stains quickly.
All carpets however will create the feeling of luxury that you deserve from a bedroom and for this reason we would recommend carpet followed by wood for your choice of a bedroom floor.
