LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) flooring is quickly becoming the flooring of choice for many homes.
Due to its high resilience, long life and the fact that it is easy to maintain, LVT really does sell itself.
However, even though this kind of flooring is highly resilient, it will still need to be maintained on a regular basis.
Our article on How to care for my new Luxury Vinyl Floor will give you a great overview of how to care for your LVT.
LVT flooring can be vacuum cleaned the same as any other type of floor, but what products should be used to clean it?
Each manufacturer of LVT flooring will supply their own branded cleaner. The reason that they do this is because that these products are tried and tested and are proven to get the best results.
Karndean, Moduleo, Amtico and any other supplier will have their own cleaning and maintenance products that are specific to the flooring that they sell.
These cleaning products will be available from any flooring retailer that sells LVT flooring.

Once the products have been purchased, simply follow the directions on the back of the bottle for the best results.
AVOID USING BUCKETS OF SOAPY WATER OR ANY FLOOR CLEANING PRODUCTS PURCHASED FROM A SUPERMARKET, doing so will invalidate any guarantee from the supplier. If you are unsure what to use, simply contact any flooring retailer for advice.
So, you’ve just had your beautiful new LVT floor fitted. You’ve purchased the correct cleaning products to go with it, but you would still to avoid dirty marks being brought in from outside by installing a doormat. That’s simple enough isn’t it?
Well you would think so but care should be taken to ensure that the doormat that you are buying is suitable to lay on an LVT floor.
If a doormat has a certain type of rubber backing or a material backing and is laid on an LVT floor for a long period of time, the flooring underneath will start to become discoloured and will appear to have a yellow tinge to it.
It is therefore very important to ensure that the doormat you are buying states that is suitable for vinyl tile flooring and that it has the correct kind of backing.
Our recommendation is a product called Turtle Mats.
Turtle Mat backings are Nitrile rubber or latex and are free of PVC and vinyl which means that the backing of the mat cannot mix colours and eventually discolour the floor beneath it.
When caring for your LVT, the correct products are very important. The correct cleaning products will ensure that the floor remains under warranty and shouldn’t fail in the cleaning process and correct doormats will ensure that your beautiful floor doesn’t get damaged by what you think you have out down to protect it.
